The World Football League enters into it's 2nd Season

The World Football League, the world’s top American minor football league, is leading the way in yet another new venture. In 2009 the WFL unveiled the World Youth Football League(WYFL). This is a joint venture with youth football organizations in the U.S. and around the world. The WYFL will showcase the top youth all-stars in all of its member cities.

The WYFL developed by WFL CEO James Ashford. “ There is a select level in all of youth sports, we have recognized the lack of a select level in football, and we want to give kids a chance to display their talents on a little bigger stage”. The youth teams will be divided into three age groups, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 year olds. WYFL  players will share a travel and practice  schedule with the WFL teams in their area. WFL players and coaches will participate in camps and practices with WYFL teams, giving back to their community and shaping young players for tomorrow. WYFL  games will be held prior to WFL games in WFL cities on Saturdays from the end of May with the World Youth Bowl ending in August. If your athlete has the desire  to test their abilities against the top youth players in the country, then don’t miss this opportunity for them to showcase their skills on a national stage. Try outs are different times depending on your location.  Click to see when tryouts in your area are taking place.   Don’t miss out on the country’s only select level youth football.

The 2009 season was a great success.  The championship was held in Plano, TX at a beautiful stadium where the Dallas Diesel play their home games.  The Championship for the 9-10 age group was between the Arkansas Warcats and the Oklahoma Thunder.  The Warcats came out on top and were crowned the 2009 World Champions.  The 11-12 age group was played between the Oklahoma Thunder and the Texas Bulldogs. Both games came down to the wire in very close games. The Oklahoma Thunder won the 11-12  age group and are looking to repeat in 2010.   The boys recently recieved their championship rings and they look awesome.
